Someone watches your website. When it breaks, someone answers.

WordPress maintenance · Sydney, NSW

Updates, backups, monitoring and security, every month, with a report showing exactly what was done. Prices are on this page. One month’s notice to cancel, and the site leaves with you.

More than a dozen websites are under our care. Several of them we did not build.

One month’s notice. Your domain is yours throughout, and the site is standard WordPress, so it moves to any host you like.

The person who built your site has stopped replying

It still works, mostly. Nobody has updated it in a year. You are not sure who hosts it, whether anyone is still paying for that, or who has the logins. The last email you sent has not been answered.

This is the most common reason people find this page, and it is not your fault. Most websites are sold as a project that finishes. Almost nobody sells you the part where someone stays.

We take on sites we did not build. There is one step first: a free look at what is actually there, before either of us commits to anything.

Sometimes the problem is not the website but the work around it, such as the same details typed into two systems. For that, we build custom dashboards and integrations.

Hours are for changes you ask for. Maintenance itself never draws them down, and unused hours do not roll over.

FingerTip also sets up and manages UniFi business networks for offices.

We look first, and it is free

We will not take on a website sight unseen, because some of them cannot be safely maintained. A site on a pirated theme, running eight years of unpatched plugins, with no backups, is not a maintenance job. It is a rebuild wearing a maintenance job’s clothes, and saying so up front is fairer than finding out in month three.

So we look at what is actually there: how it was built, what state it is in, and whether it can be kept running sensibly. It is free, it takes about a day, and you get what we found in writing.

Most sites pass. If yours does not, you are free to take that assessment to anyone you like.

Questions

Yes. Plugin updates take about twenty minutes a month when nothing goes wrong, and most of a day when one does. What a plan buys is the staging copy that catches a bad update before it reaches the live site, and the off-site backup that gets the site back if it does not. For the general version of this question, see the buyer’s guide.

Yes. Several of the sites under our care were built by someone else. We look at the site first, at no cost, to confirm it can be maintained safely.

Yes, on every plan, and there is no separate hosting bill. Watched runs on a shared VPS, Watched + Answered gets its own VPS, and On Call gets its own server in the country the business operates in.

No. Plans run month to month and cancel with a month’s notice. The domain is in your name throughout, and because the site is standard WordPress it moves to any host you choose. We hand over the files, the database, the backups and every login, and help move it wherever you want.

Every plan gets a same-day response to a site that is down. Uptime monitoring means the alert usually reaches us before the client notices. Most WordPress sites can be restored from an off-site backup in the same session once we start.

Yes, up or down, at any point. Most people start on Watched + Answered and move once they know how often they actually ask for things.
