A website that brings you work.

Web design for service businesses · Sydney, NSW

Built in WordPress, so it will run anywhere. No platform can switch it off.

Between June and October 2026 this campaign turned under A$1,000 a month into 189 enquiries, A$19.65 each.

Expert Carbon Cleaning came to us with an idea and nothing else. No brand, no website, no advertising. We built the identity, the site, the copy and the Google Ads account, and we still run it.

Enquiries are quote forms plus phone calls of 30 seconds or longer. Taps on the phone number are not counted. The latest period cost the most, at A$29.94 an enquiry. We are showing you that too, because a number you cannot check is not proof, and an agency that only shows you its best month is showing you its best month.

We are a good fit for some businesses and a bad fit for others. Here is which.

A good fit

  • Service businesses. Trades, clinics, workshops, consultants, professional services.
  • Owners who want to understand why something is being recommended, not just what it costs.
  • Businesses starting properly, rebuilding, or replacing something that was never right.
  • Anywhere in Australia. Within 90 minutes of the Sydney CBD, we will come to you.

Not a fit

  • Online shops, where selling products online is the whole business.
  • Anyone who wants the cheapest website they can find. That work exists and it is not this.
  • Anyone who wants a website by Friday without a conversation first.

Your website should not be someone else's property.

Your site is built in standard WordPress, which means it will run on any host in the world. No platform can suspend it, change its terms, or put your business behind someone else’s login. If you ever leave us, you take the whole thing with you, and we help you move it.

More than a dozen websites are under our care right now. Some of those relationships go back more than ten years, to before FingerTip existed. That is the part a marketplace listing cannot sell you, and it is the part that decides whether your website is still working in 2029. Talk to the person who builds it.

When a website is not enough and a repeated task needs its own tool, we also build custom software and automation.

Why people pick us

  • You will know why, not just what.

Most people we work with are not experts in websites and do not want to be. So we explain the reasoning behind every recommendation, in plain terms, before anything gets built. When you have a doubt or want to explore something, that is what we are for.

  • We are not trying to win design awards. We are trying to get your phone to ring.

A website that wins a prize and sells nothing has failed at its job. Every decision here is made against one question: does this help the right person understand you and get in touch? Clean, fast, easy to read, easy to act on. That is the whole brief.

  • We are in Sydney and we will come to you.

Within about 90 minutes of the CBD we would rather meet in person, because a conversation across a table beats four emails. Everywhere else in Australia we work remotely and it works fine.

  • We can keep your data in Australia if that matters to you.

Some businesses care where their files and email actually sit. If that is you, say so at the start and we will set it up on Australian infrastructure. If it does not matter to you, we will not charge you for it.

Live in about two months, and you approve every stage before the next one starts.

  • We work out what your business actually needs

A call, then a longer conversation. What you sell, who buys it, what has and has not worked, what you want the site to do. If a website is not your real problem, this is where we say so.

  • You see it before it is built

The words are written and approved first, then the layout, then the design. Nothing is built from a guess, and you sign off each stage before it moves on.

  • We build it, test it, and stay

The site is built, tested properly, and goes live. Because it is standard WordPress it can move to any host at any time. Then it is maintained, updated and watched, or handed over completely if you would rather run it yourself.

The price is on the page.

Two thirds of what you pay for happens before anyone builds anything

Most of the cost of a website is not the building. It is working out what the thing needs to say, to whom, and in what order. Here is where a project actually goes:

StageWhat happensWhat you get
DiscoveryWe work out what the business does, who buys from it, and what the site has to achieveA written brief you approve
CopywritingEvery word is written and argued before anything is designedPage copy you approve
LayoutWhere things go, and in what order, on every screen sizeWireframes you approve
DesignHow it looks, built on a design system rather than invented per pageDesigns you approve
BuildThe site is built in standard WordPress, so it can run on any hostA working site
TestingEvery screen size, every form, every link, and a speed passA site that works before anyone sees it
HandoverEvery login, the files, the database, and trainingThe keys

Roughly two thirds of that is finished before the first page is built. That is the part a cheap quote leaves out, and it is the reason cheap sites usually look fine and sell nothing.

It is also why we will tell you if a website is not what you need. Once discovery starts, we are spending your money.

Questions people actually ask

FingerTip builds start at A$5,500 for a single page site, quoted at a fixed price before work begins. From there the number is driven by how many services need explaining, not by how many pages get counted. Most Australian web agencies publish no figure at all and quote only after a call.

For what websites cost across the Australian market generally, see how to hire a web designer in Australia.

Shared hosting for a small business website costs about A$10 to A$20 a month once the introductory rate expires, and managed WordPress hosting starts at roughly A$100 a month. The advertised figure is rarely the figure you pay: a plan promoted at A$2.99 a month on a three year prepayment renews at A$9.99, an increase of 234 per cent.

FingerTip includes hosting in every maintenance plan, from A$99 a month, so there is no separate hosting bill and no renewal jump.

A .com.au domain costs roughly A$20 to A$40 a year, paid to the registrar, and it should be registered in the business owner’s own name rather than an agency’s.

A FingerTip build takes about two months, and the timeline is agreed in writing before work starts. Each of the seven stages is approved by the client before the next begins, so a delay is visible when it happens rather than at the end. The most common cause of a project running over is waiting on content from the client, which is why FingerTip says up front what it needs and when.

Yes. The domain is registered in the client’s name, the site files and database are the client’s and exportable at any time, and the build is standard WordPress, so it can be moved to any host. That is confirmed in writing before work starts, and nothing is retained by FingerTip as leverage.

For the general version of this question, including which four assets to check and what changes on Wix or Squarespace, see how to hire a web designer in Australia.

The website stays yours. FingerTip hands over the files, the database and every login, and moves the site to whichever host you choose, because standard WordPress runs anywhere. Nothing is held back as leverage.

Yes. A Wix or Squarespace site cannot be exported and switched on elsewhere, so moving means rebuilding the site in WordPress and carrying the content, the URLs and the search rankings across carefully. That is a normal project rather than a special case.

FingerTip maintains the sites it builds, on published monthly plans, and clients usually move onto one at handover. Nothing needs setting up, because we built it and already know how it works. Plans and prices are on the maintenance page.

No, and neither can anyone else. Nobody controls the Google rankings, and any agency guaranteeing a position is either misunderstanding it or misrepresenting it. A FingerTip website is built ready for search. Ongoing SEO, with published plans and monthly reporting, is set out on the SEO page.
