For one Sydney workshop, Expert Carbon Cleaning, a Google Ads enquiry cost A$19.65 on average between 1 June and 2 October 2026. A$3,713 of Google Ads brought 189 enquiries. The cost in another trade depends on how many businesses bid on the same searches.
Taps on the website phone number are not counted as enquiries, because a tap is not a call. An enquiry here is a quote form sent or a phone call of 30 seconds or longer from someone who clicked an ad.

Expert Carbon Cleaning came to FingerTip with an idea and nothing else. FingerTip built the brand, the website, the copy and the Google Ads account, and still runs the account. Read the Expert Carbon Cleaning case study.
FingerTip has no Facebook ads result to publish yet. A Facebook campaign starts only once the Meta Pixel, Meta's tracking code, is live on your website. Its first monthly report then counts quote forms the same way as Google Ads.
Use Google Ads when people already search for the service. Use Facebook ads when people do not search for the service until they see it. Facebook ads also bring back people who visited your website and left. Google Ads shows the ad while a person searches. Facebook ads show the ad while a person scrolls Facebook or Instagram.
| Compared on | Google Ads (search campaigns) | Facebook ads (Facebook and Instagram, run through Meta) |
|---|---|---|
| Reaches people | While they search for the service | While they scroll, before they search |
| Targeted by | The words a person searches | Location, age, interests and visits to your website |
| Suits | Services people already search for: repairs, trades, appointments | Services people discover by seeing them; bringing back past website visitors |
| Weak when | Few people search for the service | The person needs the service today and is already searching |
| You pay for | Each click on the ad | Impressions or clicks, depending on the campaign objective |
| Tracked to | Phone calls and quote forms | Quote forms, through the Meta Pixel, installed on your website before any Facebook ad spend. Taps on the phone number are recorded, but a tap is not a confirmed call. |

What is included
Which searches and which audiences are worth paying for, what a click costs in your trade, and what your competitors are already running.
Ads written to match the page they land on. Google Ads tracking wired to calls and quote forms, and the Meta Pixel to quote forms. Each enquiry is credited to the ad that produced it.
Bids, budgets, search terms and audiences adjusted every month. One report: what was spent, what came in, what each enquiry cost, and what changes next.
Your Google Ads account and your Meta business account are created in your business name, and FingerTip is added as a manager. If you stop working with FingerTip, you keep the accounts and the campaign history.
FingerTip matches each call and quote form from a Google ad to the ad that produced it. Calls from the ad go through a Google forwarding number. So do calls from people who clicked the ad and then rang the number on the website. A person who found the website another way sees the normal number, so that call is not counted as an ad call.
A quote form sent from a Google ad records the campaign and the keyword. Calls shorter than 30 seconds are reported separately and are not counted as enquiries.
Your website analytics run on FingerTip's own Matomo server, not Google Analytics. They also record button clicks and how far people scroll, so FingerTip can see where visitors stop before they enquire. Google Ads still receives the conversion data it needs to optimise your campaigns.
Facebook ads are tracked to the quote form through the Meta Pixel. The Pixel goes on your website before any money is spent on Facebook ads. Taps on the phone number from people who clicked a Facebook ad are recorded too, but a tap is not a confirmed call.
A website is ready for ads when a visitor can call, fill in a form or book from the page the ad links to. The website also has to record which ad each enquiry came from. It does not have to be built by FingerTip.
If your website is not ready for ads, FingerTip lists what is missing and what each fix costs, before any work starts. You decide who does the work: your own developer, or FingerTip. If your website is on FingerTip hosting, a WordPress maintenance plan may cover the fixes. Otherwise FingerTip quotes them separately, or builds a new website if the site needs replacing.
Not sure whether the website is the problem? The free 20-minute call answers that before any ad budget is spent. A website and SEO audit (A$1,800, fixed) puts the answer in writing.
Ads pointed at a website that cannot convince anyone are a fast way to spend money. A website that turns more clicks into enquiries lowers the cost of each enquiry. If the cost per enquiry does not justify the ad spend, FingerTip tells you to stop. Losing the management fee is better than reporting on a campaign that is not working.

Ad spend is separate from the management fee. Your Google Ads account and your Meta business account are in your business name, with your own card on file. Google and Meta charge that card directly.
You own the ad accounts. Your Google Ads account and your Meta business account are created in your business name, and FingerTip is added as a manager. If you stop working with FingerTip, you keep the accounts and the campaign history. The website and the domain are yours on the same terms, set out on the data ownership page.
No. Ads management runs month to month and stops with one month of notice. The ad accounts stay with you.
You do. Your Google Ads account and your Meta business account hold your own card. Google and Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, charge that card directly. The FingerTip management fee is separate.
Judge the enquiries from a Google Ads campaign on a full month of data, not a week. Google Ads Help says most ads are reviewed within one working day, so a search campaign can show ads in its first week. During the first month, FingerTip adds the searches that bring no enquiries as negative keywords, so the ads stop showing for them.
The FingerTip monthly report shows the spend on Google and Facebook, the calls and quote forms received, the cost per enquiry, and what changes next. Weak months are reported in the same format as good ones.
FingerTip changes the campaign first: the search terms, the bids, the ads and the page they land on. If an enquiry still costs more than it is worth to your business, FingerTip recommends stopping the campaign.
Yes. FingerTip first checks that the website can take an enquiry and record where it came from. If it cannot, the fixes are listed and priced before any ad spend. For a website on FingerTip hosting, a maintenance plan may cover them.
